Are You Certain of Your Eternity?
Christianity is not a religion. Religion has to do with conforming to a list of regulations / do's and don'ts - if you are good enough, then you may end up in heaven. Jesus taught something completely different. He taught that there is nothing you and I can ever do that will be good enough to get us into His perfect heaven. Instead, it is about what Jesus did for us. Below you will find out what Christianity is really about - a relationship with the God who created us! You can know for certain about your eternal security. We hope you will take a few moments to read the information below. Please contact us if you have any questions or would like to know more.
So how do you enter into this awesome, perfect relationship???
First you need to understand some differences between you and God.
What are some character qualities that come to mind when you think about God?
God is Love... And He is Holy. The Bible says many times that God is love (1 John 4:8). He loves us personally and deeply. But God is also holy, or perfect, in every area (I Peter 1:16). That means He is:
Pure ...
"Your eyes are too pure to look on evil." Habbakuk 1:13
Righteous ...
The Ten Commandments are His perfect standard of right and wrong. Psalm 11:7
Just and fair ...
He won't leave any of the guilty unpunished. Romans 2:5-11
Now, what are some of the character qualities that come to mind when you think about man?
Man Is Not Like God-Man Sins. The basis of sin is an attitude of being independent and rebellious toward God and what He says. This results in breaking or ignoring the laws of God. For example, ask yourself, "Have I ever..."
• been immoral in action or thought?
• lied or been dishonest?
• desired another person's property?
• taken something that wasn't yours?
• dishonored your parents?
The conclusion: "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory (standard) of God." Romans 3:23
What is the result of breaking God's laws? Death: Separation From God Both Now And Eternally.
"For the wages of sin is death..." Romans 6:23
Sin separates us from God now, resulting in spiritual death. This accounts for the emptiness man experiences in his life. If sin separates us from God during life, it will continue to separate us forever after we die. The final punishment for sin is called eternal death-or hell.
"And these will pay the penalty of eternal destruction away from the presence of the Lord." 2 Thessalonians 1:9
What can man do to save himself?
Nothing! Because God is holy, He cannot tolerate any evil. Compared to His standard of perfection, even our best thoughts and actions fall short.
"For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it." James 2:10
And because God is holy and just, He must punish anyone who is guilty of breaking His laws. God must punish our sin because He is holy, but He wants to save us because He loves us.
How did God solve this problem?
God Himself, In the Person of Jesus Christ, Died In Our Place
"For Christ also died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous in order that He might bring us to God..."
1 Peter 3:18
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
God's love and justice were both demonstrated at the cross. How? Jesus, as our substitute, willingly suffered the punishment of death we deserved. Because of His death and resurrection, God can now offer eternal life as a free gift.
Does everybody receive this gift?
"I am the way...no one comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:6
No, Only Those Who Believe In Jesus Christ Receive Eternal Life
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16
TRUE BELIEVING is more than simply an intellectual understanding of certain facts. It involves:
1.A realization that I have broken God's laws and as a sinner deserve His judgment.
2.There is nothing I can do to remove the guilt and penalty of my sin.
3.The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the only solution for my sin.
2.RECEIVING JESUS CHRIST INTO MY LIFE BY PUTTING MY FAITH AND TRUST IN HIM ALONE.
"But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name." John 1:12
"And the witness is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son does not have the life." 1 John 5:11-12
Does this make sense to you?
You Must Make a Deliberate Choice In Order To Receive Jesus Christ. You can simply talk to God (pray) and express:
1.That you are a sinner.
2.That the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the only solution for your sin.
3.That you are placing your trust in Jesus Christ alone.
4.Thanksgiving for His forgiveness and the gift of eternal life.
Does this express your desire?
